About ARPEPE Grumello Riserva Sant'Antonio

ARPEPE Grumello Riserva Sant'Antonio is a barrel-aged red wine crafted by the ARPEPE winery in Lombardia (Italy) using the nebbiolo grape variety.

ARPEPE is a family-run winery established in 1984 in the heart of Valtellina (Lombardia). Currently overseen by the three children of the founder Arturo Pellizzatti Perego, their wines are founded on three principles: tradition, expertise, and technology. As a result, they produce high-quality wines that are coveted worldwide.

ARPEPE. Grumello Riserva Sant'Antonio originates from vineyards that descend along the "Risc di Sassina," a very rocky and steep slope at 450 metres above sea level where all processes must be carried out manually. The harvest is done by hand and transported on shoulders in small baskets along the rocky paths.

In the winery, the grapes of ARPEPE Grumello Riserva Sant'Antonio undergo fermentation in large oak barrels with skin maceration for 45 days. Subsequently, the wine matures for 60 months in large chestnut barrels and at least 36 months in the bottle.

In tribute to the founder's wedding anniversary, ARPEPE. Grumello Riserva Sant'Antonio is crafted. A wine born at the foot of the church where he was married, in Sant'Antonio a Montagna in Valtellina, and it is truly a virtuoso.

2013 Ar.Pe.Pe. Grumello Riserva Sant'Antonio 2013 is a smooth red wine with aromas of violet flowers, notes of wild berries and balsamic and tobacco hints. On the palate it is intense, rich and elegant. A well-structured red with vigorous tannins and integrated acidity. A very balanced wine with a deliciously long finish.
