About Torelló Collection Brut Nature

 
Torelló Collection Brut Nature is an organic sparkling wine produced by the Torelló winery with the Corpinnat quality guarantee in Penedès (Catalonia) with the Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada varieties.
 
Torelló is one of the leading producers of quality sparkling wines in Penedès. This family project began in 1951 with Francesc Torelló i Casanovas when he decided to make his own wines instead of selling his grapes. All their sparkling wines are currently produced under the Corpinnat label. This is a collective brand that brings together select producers from Penedès who all make wines on the estate itself, using ecological methods and an aging process of no less than 18 months. 
 
Torelló Collection Brut Nature is a blend of the three traditional sparkling wine varieties in Penedès: Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada. These vines grow in clay-calcareous soils where the accumulation of calcium carbonate limits the availability of water in the vineyard, which improves the quality of the fruit. The vines are cultivated using ecological agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually in 25 kg boxes.
 
In the winery, the grapes are selected on the table and undergo a gentle pressing. The Torelló Collection Brut Nature must undergoes a first fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, a second fermentation begins in the bottle with native Penedès yeasts and it finally undergoes a 120-month aging process. 
 
Torelló Collection Brut Nature is a supreme quality sparkling wine made in homage to the winery’s founder. A true Corpinnat that in its day was recognised as the best sparkling wine of the year at the prestigious International Wine Challenge. Production is very limited with the bottles numbered one by one. So if you want to try it, be sure to get your hands on one now!
 
2009 Torelló Collection Brut Nature 2009 is a creamy sparkling wine with fine and persistent bubbles and a complex bouquet of ripe fruit, smoky notes and hints of brioche. On the palate it has a very good structure, full of elegant nuances and a creamy and delicate texture. A Corpinnat with great potential for bottle aging.
